French Bread Pizza

Everytime I make spaghetti, we end up with leftover sauce. It’s because my kids prefer plain noodles, obviously.  Sometimes I make spaghetti bakes, but this time I decided to make French bread pizzas.

I cut the bread open and into halves. I mixed some olive oil and garlic seasoning into a bowl and brushed the loaves with the mixture.

Next I spread the sauce on the bread using a lot of sauce because I had more than anticipated.

Then, I sprinkled with cheese. When I was a SAHM, I never would have dreamed of buying shredded cheese. I would have just shred it myself. After buying the bags of shredded cheese, I don’t know if I will ever go back to shredding my own cheese unless there is no other option! Even then, I think I will just slice the block into thin pieces using a knife.

The final topping I used was pepperoni, but you could do whatever topping your family prefers or just leave it as cheese.  If you use pepperoni, I recommend using more than pictured because this amount was not nearly enough.

I used some foil and sprayed it with olive oil so the bottom of the French bread does not get too crunchy. I baked it at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.

We did not eat all the pizza bread, so I cut into even smaller pieces, topped with more pepperoni and wrapped them individually to be used for a quick meal in the future.

Frozen french bread pizzas

When reheating, take them out to thaw a bit before reheating in the oven. They can be difficult to reheat evenly with the outside getting too crispy and the inside remaining frozen.
