I used my sewing machine and my husband made simple anchors and rods to seal our curtains tight. The old windows in our farmhouse are very drafty, and this is a great fix until we can afford new windows.

Growing up, we often had "fend for yourself nights." My siblings and I would have to scrounge together whatever leftovers we could find. I usually ate cereal. It wasn't until the end of college that I actually learned to cook and bake. Although I am just basic at cooking and baking, I excel at never wasting food. I can look at random food and find a use for it somehow. That bag of soggy spinach, the 3 tablespoons of cocktail sauce, a 1/2 pot of rice? Don't throw it out! I have been known to switch jobs every year or two. No employment has ever been as satisfying as the time I spent being home with my kids. Being a SAHM is the most enjoyable job I have ever had.
